Element Media, a new St. Louis video company, is offering budget packages, competitive prices and special deals to appeal to budget conscious couples and people who may otherwise not look into video.
While the average wedding video costs about $1,000, Element's packages start at just $250. A wedding ceremony and reception can be shot and edited into a DVD presentation for only $600. This is a stark contrast from the $2,000 and up packages offered by the leading shops in the area.
Element can afford the lower rates because they are run and managed by only two people. They don't have large overhead expenses and supplement their income with other projects such as slideshows and web design.
Video, when done properly, can encapsulate your event and recreate it so that you will be able to enjoy it years later. Its true you could ask someone like a friend or relative tape it for you, but that would be detrimental for two reasons; that person would likely miss out on experiencing your wedding as a guest, and its also likely they would be using a consumer grade, partially static shot camera. It isn't likely you would want to watch this video more than few times if that. This is assuming your uncle or friend of a friend actually knows what he or she is doing with that camera and captures the whole thing.
Element Media's style of wedding videography is somewhat of a cross between candid and cinematic. They are shot with 3 chip camcorders, and the footage is shot discreetly from balconies and aisles. The presentations also features b-roll clips, effects and music chosen by the clients.
