Jan. 21, 2010 - PRLog -- Santa Barbara, California – January 21, 2010 – As the latest winter storm dumps multiple feet of snow across North American mountains, the PowderGuide iPhone app is now available for 14 major ski areas helping you better plan your next skiing or snowboarding getaway. Acting as a community guide and a mountain tool, the PowderGuide gets you to your destination and provides you with all you need to know when you arrive.

With features including snow conditions and reports, road conditions, live mountain cams, ski patrol information, GPS maps and directions, the PowderGuide lets you know what’s happening at your favorite ski area and the best way to get there without getting caught in the snow. Packed with community information, the PowderGuide acts as your insiders guide to everything to do on and off mountain, from restaurants, shopping, lodging, activities, family fun and more all at the touch of a button.

Driving in the snow or during a storm can be treacherous and time consuming; the PowderGuide’s “Road Conditions” channel provides users with real time road closure information allowing lesser travel time and avoidance of dangerous conditions. You can even choose not to drive by exploring the many transportation options within the “Getting Around” channel which is packed with information on how to get to your favorite mountain as well as how to get around the mountain community.

The PowderGuide is currently available for the iPhone through Apple's iTunes App Store and will soon be available on other mobile platforms. PowderGuides are currently available for 14 major North American ski areas including: Mt High, Mammoth, Park City, Northstar-at-Tahoe, Bear, Vail, Whistler, Aspen, Steamboat, Breckenridge, Squaw, Crystal Mountain, Mt Bachelor and Telluride with plans to release more this season as well as next. In the summertime the PowderGuide highlights summertime activities including hiking, biking, fishing and camping in and around ski areas.
