Playstation 3 Motion Controller "Gem" is scheduled for Fall release instead of Spring

The Playstation 3 motion controller will never not be releasing for the Spring. Instead it’s aiming fora Fall 2010 release so there could be more games that use the PS3 motion feature. In accordance to Kazuo Hirai, President and Group CEO, Sony Computer Entertainment Inc., he states they have made a decision towards releasing the Motion Controller in Fall 2010 in order to offer a great thrilling and varied line-up of software titles y to deliver a new entertainment experience to PS3 users.”

Also, there’s no official name given to the actual motion controller..IGN believed the name “Gem” maybe a possibility. Hirai states that  they will maintain  a comprehensive portfolio of attractive and innovative games intended fort he Motion Controller, not only from SCE Worldwide Studios but also from other third party developers and publishers, whom we have been working closely with. They look forward to soon unveiling the exciting software line-up that further expands and defines the PS3 platform as the ultimate entertainment system for the home.

The Tokyo Game Show in 2009 revealed that a few titles  will feature this technology like Resident Evil 5 (Gold Edition), LittleBigPlanet Motion, and Ape Escape PS3. Resident Evil may have gotten a delay since this technology is not ready yet.

This will definitely rival  Wii’s own motion plus. I can’t wait to learn what Sony has in store for PS3 owners.
