Jan. 21, 2010 - PRLog -- What were once intrepid trekking routes have more recently become well trodden highways, so it was time to head off the beaten track.  Quest Overseas expedition staff have been exploring new routes for 2010 gap year teams, and what a treat there is in store for them.

The gap year teams will visit the northern section of the Apolobamba range in Bolivia, with nothing but ice, mountains and gold mining communities for miles around.  Follow this up with treks to the north of Lake Titicaca, ice climbing in La Paz and white water rafting the Urubamba making it a real adventure in the true sense of the word.

Quest Overseas organises 3 month gap year expeditions combining language learning, volunteer work and an expedition through South America or Africa.  We also offer shorter summer adventures for 4-6 weeks that concentrate on either project work or an expedition. Team sizes are up to 16 students.

Expeditions
Challenging, wild and uncompromising, learn key skills to enable you to travel as part of a group and on your own.  Expeditions can involve trekking, ice climbing, safari, scuba diving, sand boarding, bridge swinging and bungee jumping to name just a few!  Only the best South America and Africa has to offer.

Volunteer South America
Work with children in the shanty towns of Villa Maria, care for wild animals in Bolivia, work with handicapped children in Rio de Janeiro or conserve the rainforests of Peru.

Volunteer Africa
Build sustainable schools in rural Tanzania, provide waterRelief to communities in Kenya, work with orphans in Malawi or conserve wildlife in Swaziland.
