This is going to be a big homecoming for Four Finger Five. Muskegon's own precision power trio is celebrating the independent release of their second album, "2:22". 4F5 is throwing a huge party at Club Envy in downtown Muskegon and you are cordially invited. This night will serve a dual purpose as it is also the Grand Opening of Club Envy.
Joining Four Finger Five in the celebration is Ann Arbor's own Theo Katzman (formerly of My Dear Disco), and Kalamazoo's own Funktion. The evening begins at 7pm with a cocktail hour that will allow people to check out the best venue in West Michigan. At 8pm the night begins with Funk/Soul group Funktion, and doesn't stop until 2am. Tickets for this event are available at the door for $7. 21+ only please.
February 2008, Four Finger Five released their selt-titled debut album on Terrestrial Records at Founder's Brewery to a near sell out crowd. Two years later, and free of their record contract, the stage is set for 4F5 to debut their second LP "2:22" on their own terms. We are pleased to be celebrating the opening of CLUB ENVY and are glad to have them provide the backdrop for this momentous hometown occasion. Completely funded by the band, "2:22" is a return to the Power Trio of the past. Focusing on the art of writing concise and poignant songs the 3 members of this band, Joe Sturgill (guitar), Steve Harris (drums), and Mike Phillips (bass) prove that with only 3 members a band can produce full and widely appealing music.
In the 2 years between releases, 4F5 has definitely not been sitting idle. With appearances at Rothbury Festivals '08 and '09, a feature article in Billboard Magazine (8/22/09), and countless concert performances across the nation 4F5 has definitely matured. Songs like "Feel For You", "Know Your Face", and "On the Ladder" resonate the frustrations felt in the world we live in today, while tracks "We're Not Alone" and "Makes You a Man" remind the listeners that there is hope. "2:22" serves as a testament to 4F5's determination to craft songs that instantly appeal to a wide audience. 12 tracks in length, the new album "2:22" will be available for $5 for the first time in Muskegon this evening. Make sure to grab a copy!
As a special bonus, the Photobooth Company will also be joining in the festivities providing a FREE photo booth to concertgoers. The Photbooth Company is a fast growing Muskegon based business that offers a unique way to spice up your event.
