Based on years of experience in extruded polyethylene foam production, ALEMO developed a new extruder for PE foam production of sheets, specially designed for the extrusion of thick sheets, up to 20mm, single layer. The special design of the screws and barrel permits to achieve better quality of foam, with good cell structure and size, completely flat surface, even with low densities as 22kg/m2 and high uniformity in thickness. To ensure high performances and long life time, ALEMO uses high quality materials and components. Another great issue is energy consumption. The design of the line allows reducing energy consumption if comparing with a normal tandem extrusion line on market (comparing the consumption for the production of same dimensions of product). A big upgrade to their sheet extrusion lines can be the in-line lamination, able to laminate EPE foam sheets directly in-line with HDPE, LDPE other similar films.
ALEMO haven't developed only PE foam extrusion lines for sheets. They also make a big step ahead in PE foam pipe and profile production, Extruded polypropylene foam production (EPP) and also directly extruded XPS cornices. The latest line, put them on top by manufacturing a machine that can directly extrude XPS cornices, using 100% CO2 as expanding agent and achieving great quality of surface and shape.
There sure must be mentioned also their Fully Automatic bag-making machine, with high performances and best quality of welding, useful for EPE foam, laminates and air bubble wrap.
A big step ahead is also the Automatic winder for sheets, with a special design and software able to wind foam sheets with constant tension trough all the roll length.
