ATLANTA - Life Size, a new internet radio show to spotlight plus-size fashion news, events, features and interviews with industry professionals, will launch Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at 6 PM EST on BlogTalkRadio.
The show comes on the heels of what fashion observers call the plus-size fashion revolution, with increased attention to the industry in mainstream media.
Life Size is a one-hour production and will provide a weekly platform to discuss relevant people, events and ideas while embracing the needs of ‘life size’ women.
“With more than half of the average female population wearing a size 12 or above and a spending power of more than $30 billion, this segment of our nation’s population has significant economic impact, but little to no voice,” said show host and journalist Stephanie Arnold. “Life Size will offer an even greater understanding and insight into an industry with tremendous untapped potential.”
Arnold said the industry - including retailers, writers, designers, magazine publishers and models - have been neglected. “I’m using my training and resources to embark on the mission of any good journalists – tell a story,” Arnold said. “The narrative of the plus-size woman has been suppressed, and there is no better time than right now to unapologetically embrace this industry and the population it serves.”
