Coming off the heels of a 2007 expansion, which added 68,000 sq ft to the hospital, Kingwood Medical Center’s 2010 expansion includes 56 new, private beds with telemetry capabilities, the ability to serve 4,000 additional patients annually as well as the renovation and expansion of the Laboratory and Radiology departments. The facility’s additions will also enable the hospital to hire approximately 225 new employees.

Why: Usually reserved for project teams and construction crews, “Signing the Steel” offers a way for those working on a project to commemorate its completion. However, Kingwood Medical Center’s team believes a construction project involves more than just its builders. Many people helped make the hospital’s 2010 expansion possible, and “Signing the Steel” is a way for them to leave their mark on the future of Kingwood.
