FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Jan 19, 2010 -
Sollatek has developed a new range of street light systems, using LED technology. These are primarily intended for solar power applications, but can also be used for AC grid power sites.

The key strength of LED lighting is reduced power consumption. An LED circuit will approach 80% efficiency, which means 80% of the electrical energy is converted to light energy. Compare that with incandescent bulbs which operate at about 20% efficiency. In summary, the LED has a long life time and greater temperature endurance, which reduces maintenance costs.

LED technology offers the following benefits:

• Long life, more than 11 years at 12 hours a day
• Reduced maintenance cost due to long life
• Robust; can withstand vibration from transport and rough weather
• Attractive white light
• Good efficiency, comparable with fluorescent lamps
• Attractive design
• Instant start (no warming up period compared to SOX)
