This disease has definitely taken precedence over other things in our society. It is affecting both the young and the older. This is a heightened increase from three million individuals on drugs in 2000 and over a six year period, it has risen considerably.
Individuals who make the selection of abusing prescribed drugs will do this for many different reasons; some of which are traumatic situations, family problems, financial issues, and other minor and major issues. Not everyone can handle certain issues and if they fail, it reflects who they are. At least, that is what they think so the drugs are a way to remove themselves from the situations and hide from it in any way that they can.

So many stories have been told about people who abuse drugs to the point of not even remembering what happened to them. They live in a bubble and only come out of that bubble to get high again. It is an alarming thing to see your loved one so high that they don’t even know what is being said or how they react to certain things.
