[South Berwick, Maine]—In March, videogame voice actress DB Cooper will present “Take That! Finding, Trapping and Taming Exertion Sounds” at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco.
DB Cooper talks for a living: she voices commercials for CBS Radio in Boston, narrates Flash tutorials for textbooks and Internet presentations, and creates roles for video games — from her home studio in South Berwick, Maine. Her vocal contributions to games include the voice of The Wish Finder (the little robot guy), in the Nintendo DS game Treasure World, the kitties and puppies for Bratz: Forever Diamondz, and numerous characters for Bioshock 2.
Ms. Cooper won a coveted spot as presenter for this year’s GDC by offering to teach audio directors and other attendees “how to take bullets, howl in agony, and die.”
Ms. Cooper was among the 30 best-rated speakers at the 2008 GDC for her presentation with well-known character voice actor Pat Fraley, “26 Slick Tricks For Game Dialog and Other Voiced Bits”.
GDC 2010 takes place in San Francisco March 9 through 13. More than 17,000 industry professionals attended the 2009 conference.
