Three little Pigs went to the Shrink!
You may well think that only dogs and cats need the help of Pet Behaviourists, but you’d be wrong!  Debbie Connolly, star of BBC’s “Dog Borstal” and “Britain’s Most Embarrassing Pets” also has pigs, geese, goats and sheep on her psychiatrists couch.  The trend for grow your own has meant many more people having livestock for pets, and sometimes for dinner, literally.  They aren’t always happy living in your garden though and can suffer from the same problems as more usual pets, as Debbie Connolly explains.
“Livestock have personalities too and so can be bored, destructive, lonely and depressed.  You might think your daily conversations are quite interesting,  your pig might find you boring”
Lots of owners have asked for help to cure their pet problems, it is surprising that some of the cures involve climbing frames and toys, daily walkies and friends of their own kind.
Connolly takes all the ridicule in her stride.
“I’ve been asked if a cow can fit on my consulting couch.  The answer is yes as long as the cow doesn’t have to go upstairs, they can’t walk down again”.
