WHAT TO WATCH FOR: The Cardinals, who are 6-1 without him, figure to be minus WR Anquan Boldin (sprained knee) once again, which means more work for Early Doucet and Jerheme Urban. The Cardinals effectively spread the field against the Packers last Sunday, but they could be more cautious with the Saints because of the many unique blitzes that New Orleans defensive coordinator Gregg Williams employs.

To win, the Saints must put Arizona QB Kurt Warner on the ground, something Green Bay failed to do. Otherwise, this figures to be a shootout, because the Cardinals are coming off the highest-scoring game in NFL playoff history and the Saints scored 45 or more in four games this season.

However, both teams have run the ball well at times this season. New Orleans was the top rushing team until that three-game losing streak, but still finished sixth overall and now has a healthy Pierre Thomas (ribs) to go with Mike Bell and Reggie Bush. Rookie Beanie Wells rushed for 91 yards on 14 carries against the Packers, who put up a shameful performance after setting a club record against the run for the season. It will be interesting to see whether the Saints catch on: When Wells is in the game, he almost always is getting his number called.

New Orleans is finally healthy in the secondary, including its top six defenders. The Saints defense scored eight TDs during the season and finished with a +11 turnover margin. Warner better keep an eye on FS Darren Sharper, who tends to freelance in center field.

The good news for Saints QB Drew Brees, who finished second to Peyton Manning for the league’s MVP, is the Arizona secondary is working on a short week, plus it tackled horribly in the second half against the Packers. The Cardinals need to blitz to put any pressure on Brees, and that could mean short CB Mike Adams could be exposed in nickel situations. There is also a good chance Arizona ILB Gerald Hayes, the team’s best run defender, may not play because of a sprained ankle. He’d be replaced by Monty Beisel.

There is no doubt this game features some of the best big-play receivers in the league in Larry Fitzgerald, Marques Colston, Devery Henderson and Robert Meachem. The Cardinals also have to worry about Saints TE Jeremy Shockey, who’s back and close to 100 percent.
