Phantom Data Systems Inc. in a push towards gaining a firmer storage solutions presence has partnered with ProStor Systems to deliver disk based storage and archiving solutions. Phantom Data Systems, a data storage, disaster recovery and backup solutions provider in Norwalk, Connecticut today announced the strategic partnership with ProStor Systems. "We've been on the fence on disk based archiving for a while" said Alani Kuye, company president. "We did our due diligence and thoroughly evaluated the decision to engage disk based solutions. Being an optical shop, our decision to go with ProStor Systems is based on a number of variables. Inter operability, scalability, and of course the heavy support of the Linux and alternative stacks in addition to Microsoft Windows. We also have to take into account the RDX technology which has taken the industry by storm with support from every major manufacturer out there", continued Alani Kuye.
The two companies are uniquely positioned to increase the adoption of disk based archiving and availability solutions above current adoption levels. ProStor System’s open ecosystem approach with the ProStor Systems RDX (Removable Disk Drives) technology allows customers the flexibility of using industry standard applications from Symantec to Tandberg to add enhanced functionality to their storage platforms.
With more and more clients asking questions about archiving and efficient storage management, the need for a speed, reliability and manageability to offset disaster recovery and availability services has never been greater.
Customer perception is that availability and DR solutions require a lot of IT resources to setup and maintain, as a result IDC finds most organizations are invested when it comes to business continuity,”
"We are very excited and are going full throttle. We strongly believe in the ProStor InfiniVault and RDX solutions as completing our solution sets from a hardware perspective. Being a major player in the optical space, disk based solutions brings it full circle" added Andrew Preston, Vice President at Phantom Data Systems Inc.
