Weather Data Breakthrough For Norfolk Wind Turbine Project

By an amazing twist of fortune the Unity Wind community project for North Walsham is firmly back on track. A saboteur destroyed the weather mast which is crucial for proving that the location is economically viable for a full-scale turbine.

Jan. 15, 2010 - PRLog -- Andy Hilton of Wind Power Renewables Ltd kindly offered his data from a weather mast at Brumstead (near Stalham, approximately 10km south-east of North Walsham), and it so closely matched the month's data collected from the North Walsham site that there is no need to continue with the full 12-month survey at North Walsham. A replacement weather mast is now no longer required on-site. This is not just of relief to the small group of hard-working North Norfolk residents that comprise Unity Wind; it is also going to give a much more rapid answer to the question of how much electricity the site should produce.
