Grauer School Educational Model Showcased At Feb 6 Open House

Jan. 15, 2010 - PRLog -- Encinitas, CA----Parents and prospective students will have the opportunity to tour the campus of the Grauer School on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and discover what makes this grade six through 12 independent preparatory day school successful.  Tours, which will be offered every 20 minutes and provide a behind-the-scenes look at what San Diego Magazine named one of three “Exemplary Private Schools” in San Diego County.  The school offers the lowest student to teacher ratio of any local private college prep school and exemplifies the nation’s highly regarded “small schools” movement.

Students in the school’s most recent graduating class averaged more than $64,000 each in college merit scholarships, the fourth consecutive year of gains.   This is between five and ten times the expected range for top performing college preparatory schools.  87 % of all Grauer School student college applications were accepted, most accompanied by unsolicited scholarship offers.  

University admissions counselors both regionally and nationally have embraced the Grauer School model, which allows for greater teacher-student collaboration than in other schools.  Students have deep access to learning and leadership opportunities though co curricular activities in the arts, humanitarian work, sustainable technology, fitness and health, expeditionary learning, and international education.
