Herndon, Virginia Dentist Dr. Abraham A. Katz will hold the premiere launch of his new Center for Sleep Solutions at the Big Sleep Show pavilion at the NBC4 Health & Fitness Expo on Saturday and Sunday, Jan 16 -17, at Washington, D.C. Convention Center. Dedicated to correcting sleep disorders with life changing results, Dr. Katz will be meeting attendees– in booth 1044 - to discuss the symptoms and treatment options for snoring, sleep apnea and other sleep related disorders.

Sleep apnea is a growing health crisis that affects 20 million people and is a major cause of stroke, heart disease, and sleep-related car accidents: According to the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, 80 to 90 percent of people with obstructive sleep apnea are undiagnosed and untreated,” explains Dr. Katz. “It’s imperative that the public better understand the life-threatening risks of untreated sleep apnea so that they seek the best treatment solution”.

Dr. Katz  has specialized in dental sleep medicine - http://www.center4sleepsolutions.com -  to offer comprehensive, advanced solutions to successfully treat people suffering from snoring, sleep apnea and other sleep related disorders. He uses a variety of oral appliances that are custom-fitted to help each patient sleep soundly and minimize the effects of Sleep Apnea, such as snoring. These FDA-approved devices essentially treat Obstructive Sleep Apnea by preventing airway obstruction and allowing the patient to breathe easily and continuously.

Poor sleep caused by sleep apnea is a major public health problem. A person with sleep apnea may experience irritability, mood changes, lowered sexual drive and capacity, and a reduction of intellectual ability. According to the National Sleep Foundation, sleep deprivation and sleep disorders are estimated to cost Americans over $100 billion annually in lost productivity, medical expenses, sick leave, and property and environmental damage.

To evaluate if you may have sleep apnea, Dr. Katz points out a few key signs to look out for:

•   Do you snore loudly? About half of all people who snore loudly have obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).
•   What's your neck size? The size of your neck can be a telltale sign. Men with sleep apnea often have a neck size of more than 17inches (16 inches for women).
•   Are you waking repeatedly during the night or tired all day? People with sleep apnea wake-up suddenly hundreds of times each night, depriving themselves of restorative sleep.

The Big Sleep Show Pavilion is a multi-booth “one-stop shop” for consumers interested in learning more about the importance of good sleep and alertness for better health, wellness and safety. Attendees can get screened for sleep disorders, interact directly with experts and vendors about their sleep needs, as well as receive coupons and sample products that can improve sleep quality and quantity along with overall alertness.

With a mission to rekindle love, renew energy, and revitalize spirit, Dr. Katz’s encourages everyone concerned about their sleep patterns, snoring, or tiredness to visit him in booth 1044 at the Big Sleep Show or schedule a comprehensive private consultation at the Center for Sleep Solutions located at 102 Elden Street, Suite 15, in Herndon, Virginia.
