Brits have to wait for Pioneer Sat Nav with Pandora Internet Radio
According to news sources, Pioneer, which is all set to launch its latest attraction – a smart in-car gadget that bundles a range of quality and advanced services including the much awaited Pandora internet radio – in the United Sates of America, would spare its admirers in the United Kingdom waiting for a few more months.
The latest device from Pioneer that is heading full speed for the American market is not an exclusive double-DIN head unit supported music system. Instead you have this time for a change from the makers of the popular car-audio systems in the world, a satellite navigation system – Pioneer AVIC-X920BT Sat Nav System.
The car sat nav system would come including a range of enticing features with internet radio connectivity through Pandora, being the premier attraction. The internet radio provides a virtually non-stop choice of tracks for the travellers in the car, although the head unit of Pioneer does not offer any type of in-built web connectivity, and the services of Pandora are available only when the sat nav is tethered to any mobile data connection supporting device such as a smartphone.
The AVIC-X920BT features a WVGA touchscreen display of 6.1-inches, a 3D graphic accelerator, integrated USB and Bluetooth connectivity, onboard flash memory of 4GB and HD radio and DVD playback support. Mapping for the sat nav system is provided by TeleAtlas, and the device boasts of a revamped operating system that offers a galaxy of finger-friendly features.
Furthermore, the sat nav system packs a dedicated eco-display for the eco-friendly driver that indicates how efficiently was the driving going, presumably by calculating the acceleration and speed at the time of driving.
Although Pioneer has not yet let any news out on the AVIC-X920BT sat nav system's UK launch or price details, it is all set to launch the device in the US in 2010 March with a price tag of $1,200.
Car-Hire-UK, a vehicle rental company operating in the United Kingdom has claimed that it was hoping to get a few C sat navs installed in its cars in the near future. The car rental firm that serves in almost all important airports in the United Kingdom including Heathrow and Gatwick terminals, has with it a range of vehicles with built in sat navs, besides offering a number of various portable sat nav brands on rental.
