BILOXI, Miss. (January 9, 2010) – It took 80 pounds of bananas, 50 loaves of bread, 50 pounds of peanut butter and only 10 minutes for “Notorious B.O.B.” Bob Shoudt of Royersford, Pa., to be crowned the world champion of peanut butter and banana sandwiches during a Major League Eating contest at Isle Casino Hotel in Bilox, Miss. Shoudt received a cash prize of $2,000.
The World Peanut Butter & Banana Sandwich Eating Championship was held by the casino to celebrate the 75th birthday of Elvis Presley.

The contest was the first of six currently scheduled under a partnership with Isle of Capri Casinos, Inc. and the International Federation of Competitive Eating. Other contests – also expected to be headlined by eaters such as Shoudt, Eater X, and Crazy Legs Conti – will be held at Isle of Capri Casinos Inc. owned properties in Lula, Miss.; Davenport and Bettendorf, Iowa; Black Hawk, Co.; and Boonville, Mo., with a different food being contested at each competition.
