Jan. 14, 2010 - PRLog -- Capelta is starting the year's Golden Globes weekend with a thud today, hosting a showcase for the plethora of celebrities invited to Melanie Segal's Golden Globes Celebrity Lounge, hosted by the House of Blues.

Invitees will receive a first look to the this year's Capelta collection, as Capelta is planning on showcasing more than a few of its newer designs and present their long-anticipated knee-high and thigh-high medley of winter boots.

Melanie Segal's Celebrity Lounge has decided to direct its event charity on raising awareness and money for help in Haiti, due to Tuesday's unfortunate earthquake in Haiti where numerous people are feared deceased.

At the lounge this week celebrities will sign Melanie Segal's Celebrity Lounge "Hollywood Helping Haiti" shirts which will also be auctioned off for Haiti support.

Even in a calamitous fiscal era, Yahoo users will be looking for ways to offer direct service to Haiti, a very weak and corruption-plagued territory. One of the more popular ways to give to Haiti earthquake relief efforts is via text. Sending an SMS to “HAITI” to 90999 will charge a $10 contribution to the Red Cross on your next phone bill. Sending a text message to “yele” at 510 510 is also being blogged and tweeted as a way to give $5 to support efforts by means of Wyclef Jean’s Yele Haiti Earthquake Fund.  Wyclef Jean is now on the way to Haiti via the Dominican Republic to join Anderson Cooper.

President Barack Obama recently brought up the situation in Haiti with a press conference, and urged people worried about family in Haiti to phone the State Department at 1-888-407-4747. On Twitter, #helphaiti has been trending all morning with users recommending ways to contribute and broaden information with reference to the circumstances in Haiti. There is no projected death toll in Haiti, with news organizations estimating it may be in the “hundreds” or “thousands.”
