Do you believe in ghosts? Many Canadians do, and one investigational group is making it easier to understand and take an interest in all things paranormal.

Edmonton Paranormal Society continues to be a dominant presence in the Canadian paranormal community. With three separate divisions, it clearly understands why people have an interest in the paranormal and how to get them involved.

“We are still fairly new to the paranormal scene,” Ehren Ackerman; president and founder of the Edmonton Paranormal Society, explains. “But within the last year we have acquired more investigational tools than most other groups in Canada. We also have been overwhelmed by requests for us to go investigate houses, businesses, even back alleys. We have begun to book one month in advance just to keep up with the response.”

The group was started in 2008 by Ackerman and was originally designed to be a group of people who wanted to share stories and explore topics of the paranormal together. Now the group has expanded from being a coffee group aptly titled Edmonton Paranormal Interests Club (E.P.I.C.) to being a powerhouse in Western Canada complete with Paranormal Research and Rescue team, and Sixth Sense development program titled Interactive Clairvoyant Understanding (I.C.U.)

“EPIC has grown to exceed anything I could have imagined,” says Ehren. ”We have a large following of members who show up twice a month to discuss different topics of the paranormal. It is always open to the public and is the first step for anyone who has any sort of interest in ghosts, U.F.O.'s, or anything else supernatural.”
So what does Edmonton Paranormal Society have planned for 2010?

“We noticed that there are many groups in the industry; not all of them are investigational, who seem almost competitive. We want to continue to bridge the gap between these groups and continue to create a community where we can all work together and have a mutual respect for one another.”
