SuperGeo Develops WebGIS System to Manage Private Forest Lands

SuperGeo Technologies, the leading global provider of complete GIS software and solutions, develops "Private Forest Land Management System" for Taipei City Government, to effectively manage the mountainside resources and reduce natural disasters in forests.  

The Department of Economic Development in Taipei City Government was hoping to develop a complete spatial database containing the private forest lands in Taipei city and build a standard operating procedure of database establishment. The database needs to produce accurate results rapidly when updated or maintained.

Therefore, Taipei City government authorized SuperGeo to build a WebGIS system to be the references to forest land management and policy decision. Hopefully, the threats and the damage to people’s lives and properties can be avoided while natural disasters happen.

The establishment of forest land spatial information query system can also provides the associated staffs with the Internet platform as the single-window interface to do their work. The related staffs can view, query, and export the data via the Internet. Besides, the mechanism of central management, spread application, and shared information can raise their motivation to use data and improve the manipulation convenience. Better and accurate decisions can be achieved as well.  
 
The structure of the system employs SuperWebGIS, the Internet map server software, as the electronic map engine to establish the system consisting of database management and WebGIS functions. The structure of the system contains 3 parts, Basic Map Manipulation, Query Function, and Statistic and Export.

Through the system structure of WebGIS, the related staffs can display the maps, charts, query data, and position online without installing any other objects of internet browser. In the meantime, the powerful statistic, analysis, and data export functionalities can improve business operating efficiency.
