I would like for you to take a chance to look at the custom formula mixing tool. It can be complicated and confusing the first time you see it, and quite frankly the amount of information out there is quite overwhelming. Before you do anything else, check out .Fequently Asked Questions
They'll answer a lot of your questions regarding purchases, shipping, and other website technical issues

Here, I hope to answer questions regarding the use of various supplements, ideas for custom mixes, and any other questions that seem to pop up a lot. I'm going to try to condense a lot of information into one post, so I won't be going into 100% detail to answer some of the questions.

(Please note: I am not personally affiliated with True Protein in any way.)

Do I really need to create my own custom mixes?
If you don't have enough experience with supplements to know how to make your own custom mixes, there is an easier way: Use some of True Protein's Pre-Mixes. These are mixes specifically formulated by True Protein staff, and are designed for the general populace. Each pre-mix has its own description, and tells you exactly what it is designed to do. The ingredients are also listed, so you know precisely what you're taking.

What are some of these weird acronyms I keep seeing?
Here is a list of the most frequently used acronyms:
WMS - Waxy Maize Starch

BCAAs - Branched-Chain Amino Acids

CMDI - Complete Milk Dairy Isolate

MPI - Milk Protein Isolate

WPI -Whey Protein Isolate Ion Exch

WPC - Whey Protein Concentrate

NO - Nitric Oxide (related to the supplementation of Arginine)
CEE - Creatine Ethyl Ester

What are some general examples of supplements I should be taking?
Here is a list, in no particular order, of the MOST commonly-used supplements:
-A protein blend, mixed with other recovery agents, taken post-workout.
-A casein protein before bed.
-An Arginine supplement taken pre-workout.
-Glutamine and Taurine supplements taken pre- and post-workout.
-A quick uptake carbohydrate taken IMMEDIATELY post-workout.
-A creatine supplement taken post-workout.

OK, I want to make a custom mix. Where do I start?
It is recommended that you start by mimicking the ratios of a Pre-mix, and make changes from there. Having a starting point is half the battle in custom mixing!

How many grams of my mix will be in one scoop?
Well, there's no easy, definitive answer to this one. The density of your powder will be determined by what ratios you used making your custom mix. In a standard 70cc scoop, you might be getting anywhere between 25 and 45 grams. Usually, for mixes that are consisting of mostly protein, a 70cc scoop is about 30 grams. For mixes that have a high percentage of WMS in them, a 70cc scoop is usually closer to 40 or 45 grams. The best way to know for sure is to just buy a scale and weigh out a scoop yourself. True Protein's Digital Pocket Scale is cheap and extremely effective.

Some quickies:
A 25cc scoop of BCAAs is 11.0g
A 75cc scoop of BCAAs is 33.8g

What about a teaspoon/tablespoon?
Again, your mileage may vary, dependent on density. For reference purposes, a heaping teaspoon of CEE is about 2.2 grams, while a heaping tablespoon of CEE is 5.7 grams. You can make adjustments from there.

How big are these jugs, anyway?
If you order a jug, TrueProtein usually ships products in either a 1lb, 2lb or a 5lb jug, depending on how much you order.
-1lb jug: 7" tall, 5" diameter
-2lb jug: 10" tall, 6" diameter
-5lb jug: 12" tall, 9" diameter

What if I want to buy a pre-mix formula, how much am I actually getting?
-BodyFX Cell Swelling Matrix: 395g
