Former Syracuse Orange star Josh Pace has agreed to terms with New Zealand's LPG Bay Hawks and is headed back overseas to continue his professional basketball career.
The deal was ironed out by Pace's agent Nate McCray with Dynasty Sports Management and the Bay Hawks President Jeremy Bayliss.
Pace, who is currently averaging 18 points and 7 rebounds per game with the second ranked SE Texas Mavericks of the ABA, will report to the Bay Hawks in March at the conclusion of the Mavericks' season.
McCray advised that his client was pursued by many teams within the NBA Developmental League this fall after Pace was selected into the D-League draft but decided to pass on the low salary the opportunity would offer. Pace's high level play also piqued the interest of teams in Israel, Germany, Australia and the NBA.
After the season with the Bay Hawks, Pace's agent says he will seek a free agent opportunity with a team in the NBA but will not rule out available opportunities within the higher markets of Greece, Italy, France, Spain and Germany in 2010.
