Elementary and Middle School students in the Learning Enrichment After-School Program (leap) received a cash donation from the Los Angeles Lakers Youth Foundation. The funding will allow the students to take part in leap’s year-long Kids Outside Burning Energy (KOBE) health and well-being class. Through KOBE, leap students will monitor their physical activity daily, learn proper hygiene, discover healthy eating options, combat childhood obesity, and understand how to lead a healthier life.
leap is a non-profit, 501(c)3 academic and enrichment after-school program. Their mission is to best use the time after-school to develop well rounded individuals by motivating students to excel academically, encouraging them to dream and by teaching them to be healthy, productive citizens.
The Los Angeles Lakers Youth Foundation provides monetary grants to non-profit organizations that promote the health and well-being of underserved youth in Los Angeles.
