Upper Cervical Advocates, a non-profit educational association congratulates Dr. Roderick L Peddy, Upper Cervical Health Centers of America, on the GRAND OPENING of his office in Rock Hill, SC.  Dr. Peddy is considered a master specialist under the guidelines of IUCPAA. He specifically corrects the trauma induced atlas or axis (c1c2) misalignment which clears nerve interference between the body and the brain.  He trained for three years under a Sonar Upper Cervical master teacher, before interning under a NUCCA master instructor for a year. He graduated Basic I, Basic II and Advanced seminars for the Orthospinology instrument before opening his first office in South Carolina. IUCPAA endorses Upper Cervical doctors who have completed 3-5 years of additional education after their doctoral degrees via seminars or study under a Master Upper Cervical doctor.
Upper Cervical science is over 100 years old. Several textbooks are available on the science and its specific techniques include both hand and instrument correcting. IUCPAA lists education about Upper Cervical, anecdotal evidence and a list of UC DC’s on their website.
Until recently, only anecdotal evidence was available. Over the last two decades papers have documented specific research projects. Papers published in the 1980’s-90’s focused on hearing loss, Bell’s palsy, TN, chronic pain, diabetes and infertility. In 2007 research was produced on 159 cases of Meinere’s patients indicating a specific correction of a misalignment of the atlas relieved the symptoms of 152 of the 159 cases.  March, 2008 CBS, NBC and ABC released news on a NUCCA Upper Cervical research project that lowered the blood pressure on 100% of the participants. In 2009 a 1000 patient project was produced which documented remission from a vast group of complaints among participants. The paper will be published in journals in 2010. Positive resulting data involved:
