Doug Shiloh has a list for literary agents and publishers.
PRLog (Press Release) -
Jan 11, 2010 -
Originally, Doug Shiloh's "TWO LISTS: 4 Things for the Literary Agent/Writer"
relationship was merely a Twitter page as he finishes up his new novel "Waiting for the End." But a closer look and the lists make a point for that golden "win-win" that is key to success for any business, and the relationship between employer and employee.
"Although the writer-agent dynamic isn't boss-to-employee, there are some good lessons," Shiloh said. "Mutual respect, with the goals clearly in mind. A team effort. A sense of humor is helpful at times, too."
Shiloh posted this list of key points, in a clear give-and-take fashion that is good for literary agents and their wordsmith clients, at
http://www.twitter.com/dougshiloh. It echoes Citizen Kane's "Declaration of Principles."
"The business is in my case is books, ideas, but that synergy of working together for a common cause can help companies be creative, respectful and competitive,"
Shiloh said, who has owned his own internet company. "I am looking for an agent who will do his or her share and I will work for them in the best possible way. While business is tough, it doesn't mean there can't be a unity to what we do. The bottom line of what we do together is best for the customer. In my case, that's the Reader."
