Xeologic, Inc. is announcing the re-launch of their securitywire.com site on it’s 10 year anniversary of being online. During the 1990’s, this site housed tons of resources regarding network security, penetration testing and general computer security information, including an extensive exploit database that spanned several years.
However, as the site grew in popularity and size, it became too cumbersome to maintain and sat dormant for several years. It was a major go-to resource for all types of security professionals in the early 90’s. It provided both sides of security, not just the good, but the bad and the ugly.
The site has been redesigned and re-launched in January 2010 with a new attitude and direction. Now, securitywire will be a computer and network security blog that will include topics and articles on many of today’s security issues, with a focus on general internet security.
Topics will include penetration testing, general network security, encryption techniques and methods, new exploit information, social engineering techniques, how to secure resources, and a revived online nmap security scan is in development.
The blog will mainly be managed by Michel Chamberland, the Chief Security Officer of Xeologic. He is a certified CEH, CCENT, Security+, Network+, A+, Project+, MCP, CIW Associate and is currently working on his degree in Computer Security. Colette Chamberland, CEO of Xeologic, will be a part-time contributor. They hope to revive Securitywire into a full scale security resource as it once was, but in a better, more user friendly format.
