Haarlem, The Netherlands - Today, Flinndal, The Netherlands’
The packages of predominantly multivitamins will be distributed by the Foodbank throughout the Netherlands to families and individuals living on or below the poverty-line.
Tim Schelling, CEO Flinndal, said: “At Flinndal we believe that every single person is entitled to a healthy balanced diet. And that is not always easy to manage. That’s why we donate all year round to the Foodbank in Haarlem. However, we also know that because of the recession, maintaining a healthy diet has become even more difficult. We hope that our additional New Years’ donation will help add that little extra to people on or below the poverty-line in The Netherlands.
Clara Sies, vice voorzitter Voedselbank, said: “We are very pleased with Flinndal’s additional contribution. At Foodbank we notice that since the recession more and more people struggle to make ends meet. With a very small budget it is extra difficult to maintain a healthy diet. Some extra vitamins and minerals are a great addition to these people’s diet.”
Flinndal is a regular supplier to the Haarlem branch of the Dutch Foodbank program, and in 2009 donated more than 6,000 packages of multivitamins, omega 3 and other supplements.
