Intech had an agreement with Mumbai based retail firm; JumboKing for over 29 hoardings to be dedicated to the promotion of Veer. In return, Salman Khan was to have the 7 croreth JumboKing.
The MD of JumboKing, Dheeraj Gupta believed that the unbelievable connect between Salman and the masses would have added tremendous impetus to the promotion of Veer;
Shona Chakravarty of Intech was also very excited to have signed such a deal; as JumboKing’s retail reach would ve given tremendous mileage to Veer.
All this was unfortunately put aside when media waited for over 5 hours at Mehboob Studios to receive a glimpse of Salman Khan and capture this unique event. With calls exchanged between Eros, Vijay Galani Productions and Intech; no one quite seemed to know what was happening. Media moved from pillar to post seeking clarification;
The last straw was when a representative of Eros came to the venue to declare that Salman does not even know that such an event was planned. Intech’s Chakraborty was visibly irate and told media that he was reconsidering his status as marketing partner for Veer. He also said that while his personal relationship with Salman was healthy; the star was under too much pressure from other partners and being pulled in different directions. This was a personal affront to Intech’s dignity.
Intech has been the worldwide marketing partner to Salman’s blockbuster ‘Wanted’ and ‘London Dreams’. Intech through their path breaking promotional strategies for the films hope to redefine the concept of film promotion.
