A garden shed is a simple, single-story structure in a back garden or on an allotment that is used for storage, hobbies, or as a workshop. It’s something that is nice to have to store all loose shovels, rakes, potting soil and everything else you have scattered without a home. There are two types of garden sheds: Metal Sheds – will normally be made out of corrugated iron, galvanized steel or aluminum. Wooden sheds – as its name suggests, it is made of wood.  What is mostly liked with wooden sheds is how they have much more of a natural look; it can easily blend into a garden.

However, it is hard to find someone who can build a garden shed for you at a reasonable price. It is then advantageous for you to know how to build garden shed on your own. Here are some easy and simple steps for you to follow.

The things that you will need to build a shed are hammer, drill, shed kit, concrete, shovel, insulation and wood preservative.

The first thing that you’ll do is purchase a shed kit. There are so many designs and varieties available to build so choose one that suits your needs. Put into consideration the space you have available and what you plan to store in it. Make sure that the area where you’ll build your shed is level. Now follow the manufacturer’s instructions to build the shed and use the predrilled holes to screw it together. Use a frame sealing mastic to seal the windows to protect against leakage and mildew. Use fiber glass insulation to insulate the garden shed. Bury any electrical cables underground. And lastly, treat any wood with a preservative to prevent rot.

Now, with those simple steps, you are now ready to use your garden shed.
