Jan. 8, 2010 - PRLog -- As the new year begins, many in Central Florida begin their quest for a new home.  In 2010 there are some very attractive choices, from affordable townhomes to urban condominiums to luxurious homes along golf fairways.

The experts note that 2010 is a great time to buy a new home – interest rates remain at or near historical lows, the federal tax credit for first time buyers is available through April 30 and new home prices are very attractive.

“New designs.  New features.  New communities.  New excitement,” said Deb Marton, Sales and Marketing Director for Centerline Homes in summing up the current market.  “We’ve never had this many new designs and new communities to showcase.  Buying a new home is fun again!”

On the westside of Orlando no community has more furnished models than Summerlake, a resort-style community 5 minutes from Disney World, where the 6-home Model Center is drawing crowds.  There are 21 single family home designs from which to choose with prices starting at an affordable $189,000.  Summerlake will include a lakefront Clubhouse and Fitness Center, a resort-style swimming pool, tennis, basketball and much more.

In Windermere, Preston Square remains one of the hottest-selling communities in Central Florida, offering a selection of 8 single family home designs from the low $200s.  The recreation center is now open with a swimming pool, fitness course, park and basketball court.

One of the most exciting communities on the eastside of Orlando is Eagle Creek, the upscale golf course community just 5 minutes from the new “Medical City” and 15 minutes from Orlando International Airport.  The gated community includes a Ron Garl-designed championship golf course, a 2-story Clubhouse and a variety of townhomes and single family homes priced from the low $200s to $1 million.

There are 2 communities of note near the University of Central Florida campus.  Isles of Oviedo is just 10 minutes from UCF and offers townhomes from the $150s, one of Central Florida’s biggest new home values.  Woodland Lakes Preserve is 15 minutes from UCF, 20 minutes from the Airport and 20 minutes from Downtown Orlando.  The heavily-wooded community features single family homes starting from $189,000 and has a community swimming pool and playground.

In Seminole County the newest upscale community is Bella Vista, a small enclave of estate homes starting at $389,000.   The gated community is located just 1 mile from Lake Brantley High School, a major benefit for families with children.

For those who prefer an in-town Orlando location, Baldwin Park continues to be a favorite.  Condominiums start in the $180s and are within walking distance of the shops, restaurants and recreation facilities at Baldwin Park.
