FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Jan 08, 2010 -
www.britainsfinest.co.uk, the online guide to Britain’s best accommodation and places to visit, says that Cornwall was the most popular place in Britain based on the site’s top searches in the three months to Christmas.  And in first few days of 2010 the site has received 18 per cent more hits than at this time last year.

“The big freeze means people are staying at home and researching their next holiday,” says editor Will Blackwell.  “And it’s clear that holidaying in Britain in 2010 is going to be as popular as it was last year: the staycation is here to stay.”

The top ten most popular destinations in October, November and December – in descending order – were Cornwall, North Yorkshire, Devon, London, Derbyshire, Oxfordshire, Kent, Hampshire, Surrey and Suffolk.

Hotels with Spas and dog-friendly properties were two of the most popular ‘facility’ searches.  “This suggests that a Spa hotel that also welcomes dogs should have been a sell-out!” says Blackwell.www.britainsfinest.co.uk features over 350 luxury Hotels, 500 Small Hotels, Inns and Restaurants-with-rooms and 600 of the best B&Bs as well as Restaurants, Attractions, Historic Houses and Gardens.

The guide is edited by an independent team of travel enthusiasts, specialist journalists and trusted inspectors and received

over three million unique visitors in 2009.
