Jan. 7, 2010 - PRLog -- JSF 1.2 Components is a new book from Packt that is aimed at helping developers build advanced Ajax-enabled web applications with the JSF framework. Written by Ian Hlavats, this book covers about the most popular JavaServer Faces components available today and demonstrates step by step how to build increasingly sophisticated JSF user interfaces.

JavaServer Faces(JSF) is a Java-based Web application framework intended to simplify development integration of user interfaces and the operation on the values they (the UI) hold for Java EE application usage activity. The version 1.2 is currently the latest latest version of JavaServer Faces technology.

After an introduction to the standard JSF HTML, and JSF Core components, users will learn how to build composite views using Facelets tags, implement common web development tasks using Tomahawk components,  and add Ajax capabilities to their JSF user interface with ICEfaces charting components. Apart from developing a database-enabled Java EE application using JSF, it will also teach its readers to solve complex web application development challenges, such as writing custom converters and validators, declaring them in faces-config.xml, and registering them on other UI components with the standard JSF Core tag library, using the JBoss Seam framework.

Developers will be able to implement user interface security with the Java Authentication and Authorization Service (JAAS) and Apache Tomahawk components.  In addition to this, they will also discover new and up-coming JSF component libraries, and gain a better understanding of the JSF ecosystem and technology road map.

With plenty of examples and screen shots, this book is ideal for Java developers and experienced JSF professionals who are interested in learning JavaServer Faces. The book is out now and available from Packt. For more information, please visit: http://www.packtpub.com/jsf-1-2-components-develop-advanc...
