Museum Provides Promotion For Martial Arts Theme Films

Jan. 6, 2010 - PRLog -- As a courtesy to friends and members, the Martial Arts History Museum is providing free promotional items to bring attention to Jackie Chan’s upcoming film, The Spy Next Door. The items, which consists of Spy binoculars, laser pointer/light keychain or poster are being provided free of charge at Valley Martial Arts Supply store in North Hollywood (while supplies last).

“Films with a martial arts theme has been the real force behind the spread of the martial arts in both America and the world. Though the arts were here in America in the late 1800s, it wasn’t until martial arts were part of American films that helped open the doors to Asian art forms,” notes museum president Michael Matsuda.

Jackie Chan, who was inducted into the Martial Arts History Museum’s Hall of Fame in 2001, has been one of the driving forces for the arts since Bruce Lee’s passing in 1973.  “We’ve seen a lot of people come and go in films, but Jackie Chan continues to deliver film after film and it continues to make an impact,” says Matsuda. “Over the last ten years, the Museum has supported the movie industry with promotions as well as movie screenings and I think that’s very important. In fact, one of our biggest contributors is Warner Bros. President Alan Horn.”

The Museum has placed a great emphasis on martial arts in films with a variety of movie artifacts which have included the hat from the film Billy Jack, the sai’s from Elektra, the shield from Mortal Kombat, the cow from Kung Pow Movie, the uniform from Best of the Best, the outfit from Xena and much more.
