SRQ reporter Lindsay Downey wrote, "At 300 pounds, diagnosed with diabetes, Louie Yeostros was on a dangerous path. 'I was going nowhere fast,' he says. Yeostros saw a story about how local ABC-7 anchor Linda Carson lost significant weight through The Anderson Method. The program picqued his interest but he didn't look into it at the time. But when he attended a party shortly thereafter and saw the transformation in his once-overweight friend Michael had made through The Anderson Method, it was time for Yeostros to book an appointment."
The Anderson Method is a training program that teaches people how to take control of their lives and their weight using psychological principles and techniques. The unique system was discovered by psychotherapist William Anderson when he struggled to overcome his own weight problem. After twenty-five years of obesity and diet failure, he lost 140 pounds, solved his weight problem for good, and went on to help others. His psychotherapy practice has a waiting list of over a year at times, he is training other therapists, and now he's written a book, "The Anderson Method", available at www.TheAndersonMethod.com , all on-line booksellers, and select bookstores.
Yeostros is no longer fearful about diabetes and the future. "If I hadn't gone on the program, by now, I'd probably weigh 325. I'd be on insulin and have trouble breathing and probably have heart problems. It's not a diet. You don't take any shots. You get stripped of your old habits and you learn new habits." The retired GM worker from Buffalo, N.Y. has kept the weight off for over a year now, and has decided he wants to take off another 25 pounds and hit 200. "It was worth it for my health. I'm a lot more active than I was 10 years ago. I'm happier."
Downey says "With just the right life-changing elixor," people can transform their lives. SRQ Magazine seems to be striving to provide it to their readers.
