IPC Media Classified sales and Meet The Real Me joined forces today to run one of the UK’s first ever Video CV recruitment campaigns. With wide ranging recruitment advertising activity across multiple job boards and employment portals designed to attract candidates from a broad range of careers including graduates just entering the job market, the campaign is designed to drive all applications through the new Meet The Real Me website, i.e http://www.meettherealme.co.uk
All applications will therefore be received in a standard format with every candidate completing a simple three question video interview as part of their initial application. Candidate who closely match the IPC Media job specification will then be invited to complete the selection process by answering three job specific questions in order to get IPC Media much closer to the right candidate much earlier in the recruitment process.
This simple two-step process has been designed by Meet The Real Me to be a powerful aid to recruitment especially where some of the key skills required are communication, confidence, passion and enthusiasm. Something the standard written CV cannot portray and can only usually be discovered by conducting extensive face-to-face interviews.
For jobseekers the innovative process gives them the chance to say more about them and to express their interest in the job in a more personal way. With a chance to show their potential and explain why they are right candidate for the role.
One of the major problems with the written CV is that it is simply a chronological list of things that a candidate has done in the past and does not highlight a jobseeker’s potential or show some of the key intangible skills so often sought after by employers such as spoken communication ability, confidence, ambition and enthusiasm.
