“I recently hired a self drive horsebox and was amazed how the costs mounted with rental, excess mileage charges, insurance, cleaning, etc. My rates will be an ‘all in’ price per 24 hours, the only extra will be the diesel the customer uses. I believe this will be a clear round winner with horse and pony owners. Discounts will also be available for those who book ahead for the 2010 show season”
Maisie’s business partner is her husband Leo who will be available for emergency calls whatever time of day or night to transport throughout the country. This service will especially be of interest to Vets and Livery Yards who need to transport sick or injured animals quickly.
Northern Horseboxes have supplied the vehicle which Maisie is using in her business. The RunStar Horse Shuttle is produced by Mike Crawley, his daughter Emma and their business partner Grant Cramond at their workshop on Silverlink Business Park, Forge Way in Darlington. Based on a Renault Master van it can accommodate two 16.2 hands horses and their tack.
Mike said “Maisie has bought our demonstrator model and we are sure her business will flourish. We are honoured that she asked for our help and advice in setting everything up and wish her every success.”
