G is 4 Girl, online retailer of empowering clothing for girls, last week marked its first anniversary of being in business.
“It’s been an amazing year,” said founder Erin Boudreau. “We’ve learned a lot, not just about running and marketing an online store, but also about how important positive and inspiring messages are to moms and girls everywhere.”
G is 4 Girl (http://www.Gis4Girl.com) opened for business at the end of December 2008 with just a few t-shirts to choose from and now has over 25 designs on everything from hooded sweatshirts to reusable water bottles. All of the company’s designs are meant to be inspirational and encouraging for girls and tweens. The company’s goal is to boost girls’ self-esteem by reinforcing positive messages and phrases such as “You Grow Girl,” “Inner Beauty Queen,” and “Super Role Model.”
“We’ve had feedback from people all over the world on how glad they are to see a company with products that encourage girls to be their best,” Boudreau said. “It’s been nice to get such encouraging feedback from so many of our site’s visitors, especially in the early days when we were just starting out and strived to get our name and products out there.”
In honor of their anniversary, G is 4 Girl is offering a sale of one of their newest designs, “Definition of a Girl.” This design proved to be one of the most popular selling designs this holiday season, which comes printed on t-shirts, bags, tee wearing teddy bears and even journals. Boudreau says plans are in the works to expand the store in more ways than one.
“We hope to add more designs in 2010, including some of our most popular designs in Spanish,” Boudreau said. “We’ve also had some positive encouragment to sell our products not just online but in stores, so we’re exploring those avenues as well.”
