Girls Inc. of Southwestern Connecticut introduces Growing Together in Cos Cob

Girls Inc. of Southwestern Connecticut is hosting the third in a series of six of mother and daughter workshops at the Cos Cob Library on January 23, 2010 from 11am-2pm. Lunch will be served!

January 4, 2010- Girls Incorporated of Southwestern Connecticut is proud to announce the third in a series of workshops sponsored by the Newman’s Own Foundation. “Growing Together” a workshop for girls ages 9-12 and their mothers/female caregivers is designed to open lines of communication and establish good communication skills about subjects such as health, hygiene, anatomy and puberty. These fun and interactive workshops not only supports parents and daughters with communication but also ensures that they keep talking throughout the challenging years of adolescence.
“Growing Together” will be held on Saturday January 23, 2010 from 11am-2pm at the Cos Cob Library, 5 Sinawoy Road, Cos Cob, CT. Lunch will be provided. The Girls Inc. Growing Together Program is made possible through a $5,000 grant from Newman’s Own Foundation. Girls Inc of Southwestern Connecticut will deliver six of these workshops to girls and their parents/female caregivers throughout Connecticut in Stamford, Greenwich, Norwalk, Bridgeport, Watertown and Prospect.
Newman’s Own Foundation is a private, independent foundation established by Paul. L. Newman. The Foundation continues the commitment of Paul to donate all net profits and royalties earned from the sale of Newman’s Own products to charity. As of June 2009, over $267 million has been donated to thousands of charities around the world.
