What happening?

Their decision to forgo an opportunity for perfection last week has eliminated any real drama from Sunday's regular-season finale at the Buffalo Bills.

At 14-1 and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs secured, Colts coach Jim Caldwell may not wait until the second half to pull his key starters. Many of them might not play at all.

Quarterback Peyton Manning is expected to at least open the game in order to keep his streak of consecutive starts intact. The only hope is he'll stay in long enough to show off the skills that likely will led him to an unprecedented fourth NFL MVP award.

As for the Bills (5-10), this will mark the end of a miserable decade, which included no playoff appearances and only one winning season. Some fans are rooting for a loss on Sunday so the team can improve its draft position. But tanking this game is the last thing on the minds of the players and coaches, who want to end the season on a positive note.

This will be the last game for Perry Fewell as interim coach. This also might be the last time for fans to watch certain players in a Bills uniform. Defensive end Aaron Schobel is thinking about retiring after his ninth season. Wide receiver Terrell Owens� contract is up at the end of the year, and Owens is doubtful to return next season.

The Bottom Line
Caldwell took a lot of heat from fans and media for pulling his starters so early last week and costing the team a chance at a perfect season. It's doubtful he will be swayed by public opinion on Sunday, especially with nothing to play for and the fear of losing important players to injury. If the Colts try just a little bit, they could still win this game because the Bills are ready for the season to be over. But it's doubtful the Colts will care about the outcome. Beating the Colts at full strength would be a whole lot more meaningful than beating a bunch of backups, but the Bills will take a win any way they can get it.
