Shipping Lithium Batteries
Lithium batteries are an integral part of our daily lives. Laptop computers, cell phones and MP3 players are just a few examples of items that use lithium batteries as a power source.

Until recently, lithium batteries (especially small, consumer-sized ones) were considered to be essentially negligible as far as being a danger during transportation. However, due to several serious incidents, and the large number of batteries shipped every day, they have become a major topic in the regulation of hazardous materials. New restrictions and requirements are making transport of lithium batteries safer, yet more complex.

To assist shippers of both small and large lithium batteries, ICC has developed training specifically for these products. These courses are available as in-person, in-house classes or e-Learning (webinar) classes. Contact our training coordinators for more information.

Packaging is an essential component of safe shipment, and ICC The Compliance Center has a variety of packagings for lithium batteries, in both regulated and exempt modes. When you choose ICC, you can rest assured that we have designed and tested our packages to meet or exceed the regulatory requirements.

ICC can also provide you with all other materials, such as labels, shipping papers and placards, to make sure that your shipment complies with all national and international regulations.

Need support? Contact our regulatory specialists to discuss your shipping concerns, at 888-442-9628 (in the USA) or 888-977-4834 in Canada – It's absolutely free!
