TORONTO, ONTARIO – For those who produce manuals, white papers, and other large documents using Word, creating an index for their documents has always been considered too much trouble. The hours spent marking up the words to include in the index has just been too onerous a task for the benefits.
Until now! Indxr, an add-in for Word can run through a document and create an index in minutes, even seconds, depending on the length of the document. “My one-click indexer alleviates the painfully boring process of marking up a document”, says Christopher Greaves, creator of Indxr. He continues, “imagine marking up 2,000 words or phrases at 3 per minute; this will take someone about 160 minutes, or roughly 3 hours.”
Indxr goes through a document and pulls the interesting words into the index and by tweaking rules, it can be customized. “Even with going through and deleting unwanted words from the index, it is still faster than the current method”, says Greaves.
