Follow on Google News | New York Women’s Foundation Increases Grantmaking by 20% in 2009The New York Women’s Foundation increased its grantmaking by 20% in 2009, distributing approximately $3,300,000 to 68 local community-based organizations in an extraordinary response to the economic crisis.
By: The New York Women's Foundation In addition to the Spring and Fall cycles of grantmaking and its capacity building grants, NYWF initiated extraordinary responses to the economic crisis: RISE-NYC!: A four-year fundraising, grantmaking, and partnership initiative across sectors to maximize investment and accelerate economic solutions for women and families, awarded $640,625 to 12 grantee organizations with innovative programs in Business development, Education, training and employment, and Family stability and safety.
