Editors Only editor and media analyst William Dunkerley takes on the issue of online profitability and payment models in "Getting Readers to Pay." His article reviews several of the proposed plans by publishing industry veterans, but focuses particularly upon the micropayment model presented by Steve Brill, founder of Journalism Online, LLC.
In "The Fog Index," there is an evaluation of a New York Times passage's readability.
Finally, in "Editor and Publisher Folds," research editor Meredith Dias discusses the closure of trade publication Editor and Publisher. The article includes reactions from several publishing industry professionals and raises questions about both the cause and implications of the prominent magazine's closure.
