The EIBMT 2009, which is held from the 1st to the 3rd of December at the Fira in Barcelona, is monographically specialised in commercially incentive tourism, business trips as well as the organisation of conventions and large events.
This event is organised by the British group 'Reed Travel Exhibitions'.
The EIBMT came to an end after three days of expositions, where companies and destinations from 92 countries made known their offers to the conference, events and incentive industry. An estimated 7500 professionals attended, similar to that of 2008.
The start of a positive trend in the market
Rob Davidson, the author of 'Industry Trends and Market Share Report' wrote, "The conference, events and incentive industry is starting to show small signs of recuperation in the face of the year to come. However, companies continue to make contracts for shorter and shorter periods of time and with fewer delegates. It appears this trend is not going to change for the time being, as it is the buyers that control the patterns of the market."
Despite the fact that companies in this industry have reduced their expenditure, demand from the professional associations has remained stable, but trends show a continued cut in costs.
Rob Davidson points out that the industry should pay more attention to SMERF (social, military, educational, religious & fraternal), a market that is returning in countries like the United Kingdom and the U.S., even though these are corporations that incur little expense they should be paid a great deal of attention.
travel Car Hire presents their car hire services
Ana Rubio comments, "The conference and events industry or that of business trips are a potential market for car hire companies. Even though these types of conferences concentrate all participants at one specific location, where all the meetings take place (for example hotels, resorts etc.) we can not rule out that in many cases those who are present are in specific need of a car hire service."
travel Car Hire took part in the fair with the aim of contracting companies that organise such events as these, for the purpose of presenting their car hire Barcelona and car hire Madrid services, the most important spots in this section of the Spanish market.
"The objective at the EIBMT 2009 was to offer a car hire service associated to events of these characteristics. Our intention was to offer said companies or organisations our car hire services at a price adjusted to the volume of cars contracted. This then gives opportunity for those people in the group, that need to be mobile for their own personal needs or merely wish to enjoy their stay between meetings, the ability to do so, at a very reasonable price."
