The Institute for Children and Poverty invites you to attend a national conference to build bridges, create dialogue, and encourage ideas, January 20 & 21, 2010 at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown, Philadelphia PA.

Dec. 26, 2009 - PRLog -- Expert researchers, policymakers, and practitioners from a broad spectrum of professions will explore the issues facing children and families experiencing poverty and the solutions needed to end homelessness in communities across America.

Director, Office of Supportive Housing

Ms. Mintz possesses many years of experience working with supportive housing programs, and she looks forward to sharing some of the preliminary findings of Philadelphia's service approach and concentration on homeless children.

Versandra Kennebrew, author of “Thank God for the Shelter – Memoirs of a homeless healer” is one of the afternoon panelists. Ms. Kennebrew will share how she took her personal story and turned it into an effective homeless advocacy tool. Transitional housing programs, local libraries and college and church bookstores across the country are using her books and journal to bring awareness to a variety of homeless issues and to inspire and encourage those who can to continue the works of so many who help the homeless each day.
