Barbados government is struggling to pay its workers, therefore the questions is IMF or no IMF in 2010 for the small island.
Barbados is actively pursuing the assistance of local commercial banks in paying its wage bills for some of its 30 000 workers. This might not seem like a great number of persons in the public sector but in the context of a population between 270 000 and 300 000 (waiting for a census in 2010 for updated population figures) it is rather significant.
In 2010 Kiss Barbados will be interviewing Barbadian economists (mainly those at the University of the West Indies, Cavehill campus) to acquire possible recommendations on what Barbados should and should not do to avert any potential Barbados crisis or going to the IMF.
