Phase2Studio.com a developer and publisher of interactive media ranging from video production, 2d and 3d animation, games, product reviews, fiction and nonfiction articles and internet radio was launched in the spring of 2009 by a small group of recent college graduates who live across the country while all working together online to build the website.
Led by 24 year old David Lowry, a graduate of the University of Advancing Technology orchestrates a 12 man team of graphic designers, web designers, animators, artists, writers and marketers (all recent graduates) via AIM, Ventrilo, Phase 2's own forum and email.
Recently David sat down to answer the following questions:
How did the studio start?
The studio started back at UAT for a cartoon project I had wanted to do with fellow classmates. Since then it has been through many different integrations and failures. This is the most successful version to date.
Why a magazine?
It allows me to cover all the medians I enjoy and to put content out there that I enjoy. If you look at a magazine it isn’t interactive at all really but with blogging and the internet’s structure we can entertain with videos, pictures, articles, games and whatever else we can think of.
How do you pay for the Studio?
We are currently volunteers however we use the very skills that enabled us to create the website and content to do contract work that eventually will fund the entire studio.
What is the big next step?
More! More everything is really our big next step. Video shorts, cartoons, more articles, more radio shows and anything that we believe will entertain the internet folk!
Phase2Studio is a fast growing company, since the launch of the site, hits to the site have nearly tripled, and David sees no reason why, with the talent pool he has on staff, why growth and popularity of the studio will stop. So much so, Phase2Studio is constantly looking for more writers and artists to add to the team.
