Austin, TX — CLEAResult Consulting announced the addition of Daniel Merchant II as vice president of utility client relations. He will be responsible for client recruiting and retention, along with partnership development, for the Austin-based firm which designs and implements energy efficiency and renewable energy programs for utility clients across the country.

Merchant, former senior vice president of member relations at the Association of Energy Service Professionals (AESP), will be responsible for organizing and coordinating CLEAResult's sales efforts, managing relationships with existing and prospective clients, and facilitating strategic partnerships with complementary organizations.
His extensive experience in the energy efficiency industry includes targeting and obtaining key new Group Members for AESP, including the U.S. Department of Energy, Southern Company, and American Public Power Association, organizing and implementing AESP’s new “Fundamentals of Demand-Side Management” training for several hundred utility employees, consultants and vendors, and creating four new propositions, including asset management, for BT’s Consulting & Systems Integrations Division to offer to utilities in the United States. His prior experience also includes working for other utility consulting and technology firms after beginning his career in energy efficiency at Green Mountain Power in Vermont.
